Building Services Specialist in our Home Office in Binghamton, NY

We are recruiting for a full-time Building Services Specialist in our Home Office in Binghamton, NY.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor and maintain HVAC systems.
  • Electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations. Assemble and maintain all internal/external lighting and fixtures.
  • Plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installations.
  • Carpentry and painting.
  • Maintain and update Security System. Oversee the security of the building and property.
  • Monitor Daily Operation of Physical Plant. Report issues to Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain MSDS book.
  • Collect recycle material.
  • Snow removal from sidewalks and parking areas.
  • Stocking of supplies in cafeteria, executive, General Services, conference rooms, etc.
  • Work in hazardous building areas: rooftops, live electrical panels, heavy machinery, etc.
  • Ensure routine maintenance and cleaning of Home Office and company-owned vehicles and equipment is performed.
  • Grounds maintenance: mowing, weeding, mulching, trimming and general upkeep.
  • Provide backup to the Building Services Associate and Executive Attendant position.

 

Critical Qualifications:

  1. Experience, Education, Licenses/Certifications

    • Clean driver's license

    • High school graduate or equivalent in area of specialty

    • Refrigeration certification

    • HVAC certification

    • Electrical experience
       

  2. Knowledge, Technology, Skills, Abilities

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds

    • Plumbing skills

    • Must be available for evenings and weekends as needed
        

  3. Physical Demands: Work in hazardous building areas: rooftops, live electrical panels, heavy machinery, etc. Must be able to climb ladders of indeterminate height. Work with hazardous chemicals: paint thinners, acetones, acids, etc. Work in extreme hot or cold weather.

  • Carpentry and painting skills
  • Basic ground maintenance experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task & prioritize
  • Elevator knowledge

Customer Service Representative in our Norcross, Georgia office

We are recruiting for a full-time Customer Service Representative in our Norcross, Georgia office.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for processing entry level transactions, such as address, beneficiary, ownership, third part designee, dividend and non-forfeiture option changes; duplicate policies and policy certificates and reinstatements; respond to policy value requests, cash disbursements for surrenders, loans, dividend withdrawals, and maturity payouts. Request check cancellations and replacements.
  • Prepare simple correspondence to agents and policyholders using template letters/memos.
  • Handle a high volume of telephone calls and respond to the requests made by agents and policyholders.
  • Develop an understanding of Final Expense product administered.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED.

  • Keyboarding, 30 w.p.m.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Excellent verbal/telephone communication skills; good written skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Basic life insurance background preferred.
