New Business Underwriting Support Technician in our Syracuse location

We are recruiting for a New Business Underwriting Support Technician in the New Business Department located in our Syracuse, NY

Major Functions:

  • Responsible for reviewing all policies for accuracy prior to mailing.
  • Responsible for checking and comparing application, policy, NAIC illustration and delivery requirement information for all policies that are being mailed to the General Agent.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Ordinary life insurance products, including benefits and riders.
  • Receives and initiates telephone calls to agents regarding outstanding policy delivery requirements.
  • Use of website to research and report confidential applicant underwriting information. 
  • Maintain and respect the confidentiality of all customer records.
  • Perform underwriting support functions, as needed.
  • Distribute POS mail.

Qualifications include:

  • High school graduate or GED.

  • Keyboarding, 35 w.p.m.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Excellent verbal/telephone communication skills; good verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with both speed and accuracy.

  • Ability to learn quickly.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology helpful.

Licensing and Customer Service Associate in our Syracuse, NY office

We are recruiting for a Licensing and Customer Service Associate in our Syracuse, NY office.

Major Functions:

    Licensing:

  • Processes contracting paperwork of new producers. Reviews for completeness and accuracy.
  • Enters data for new producers. Interacts with other internal departments on contract status. Responsible for correspondence needed to complete contracting new producers.
  • Processes new and renewal license appointments for producers.
  • Processes agent terminations.
  • Develops and maintains understanding of all state licensing requirements. 
  • Provides support for other department functions, as needed.

    Customer Service:

  • Respond to requests for policy information.
  • Process beneficiary, owner, name and address changes.
  • Back up for New Business application entry
  • Provides support for other department functions, as needed.

Qualifications include:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Email and internet experience.

  • Keyboarding, 40 w.p.m.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Prior office and/or customer service experience preferred.
