SafeShield® is level term insurance available in amounts from $25,000 to $250,000 with no medical exam required. Eligibility is based on your answers to the application health questions. If you want a policy that pays you back, the SafeShield® Plus Return of Premium plan will refund 50% of your policy premiums at the end of the initial term period.
SafeShield® is available with a 15, 20 or 30 year initial term period, and SafeShield® Plus is available with a 20 or 30 year initial term period. Both types of policy can be converted to permanent insurance after the second policy year, or renewed to age 95.
As an added benefit, an Unemployment Premium Waiver is automatically included with the policy at no additional premium, where allowed by state. Premium payments will be waived for up to six months if you become unemployed after the second policy year and collect unemployment benefits for at least four consecutive weeks
The following optional riders are available:
Living Benefit Riders for terminal illness, critical illness and chronic illness can be added to the SafeShield® Non Return of Premium policy at no additional premium. These riders allow you to receive advance payment of a portion of the policy death benefit if you suffer a covered condition.*
The Accelerated Death Benefit Rider can be added to the SafeShield® Plus Return of Premium plan at no additional premium, and will allow you to receive a 50% advance on the base policy death benefit if you are diagnosed with a terminal condition and a life expectancy of 12 months or less.*
The Children's Insurance Rider provides level term insurance on your child, grandchild or great grandchild. Up to 20 riders may be attached to a policy. Coverage can be converted to permanent insurance at ages 22 to 25 without evidence of insurability.
The Guaranteed Purchase Option allows you to increase your coverage on option dates with no health requirements, regardless of changes to your health.
The Accidental Death Benefit Rider pays your beneficiary an additional benefit up to $250,000 if you die from an accident.
The Waiver of Premium - Disability Rider waives premium payments if you become totally disabled for more than six months.
